Lifeguard qualifications

We understand a barrier to achieving the required lifeguarding qualifications can often be the cost and the location of the course providers. The Wave wants to be able to make this easier for aspiring lifeguards and are proud to offer these courses in house.

By the end of the 6-day course, you will have achieved your RLSS Beach Lifeguard qualification preparing you to join our team as a Wavemaker.

Surf Coach qualifications

Would you like to become a beach lifeguard or surf coach but aren’t sure where to start? Since 2021 we have been providing Wavemakers the opportunity to become qualified Surf Coaches and Lifeguards by running in-house training courses.

Our 180m long lake is powered by Wavegarden. This ground-breaking technology can generate up to 1,000 quality waves per hour, ranging from 50cm (1.7ft) to almost 2m (6.5ft) in height. We can produce a new wave every 8-10 seconds and our Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of our visitors in and around our lake.

Our Surf Coaches are part of a coaching team that is committed to delivering The Wave’s lesson plans, and ensuring our visitors have an unrivalled surfing experience.

Front of House team member

Our F&B area can seat 300+ visitors (inside and out) and is a high-volume operation. We feed and water super hungry surfers, our guests staying at The Camp and spectators who come to visit our amazing venue.

Customer Service team member

The Customer Service Team operate in a supportive, friendly environment. Their input shapes the experience our customers have from the moment they book with us until they leave our venue.

Surf Techs

Our Surf Tech’s are responsible for ensuring our visitors are well informed, relaxed and excited about getting on the water! They provide excellent customer service to ensure the visitors journey is seamless within the Surf Ops department.
