Improver Surf Lesson
A mixture of a land based lesson and in water training, these lessons take place in The Reef area at the back of the lake. It’s the perfect next step after the Beginner Bay.

Confident beginner surfers ready to catch unbroken waves, aged 6+ who can swim 25m unaided and are comfortable outside of their depth.

The Improver Wave
Your lesson will start with thirty minutes outside of the lake with one of our specially trained coaches. Here you’ll really work to perfect the basics such as pop up, paddle technique and stance. Your coach will also cover how to navigate The Reef and how to take off.
You’ll then enter the lake where your coach will be with you every step of the way, giving you advice as you go and ready and waiting with support and answers to your question as you catch your first unbroken waves.
The Improver Wave
Familiar with our Waikiki wave? This is our new and improved version! The Improver wave sits in between Beginner Lessons/Sessions and our Intermediate wave.
This is the best place to start learning how to ride waves in our Reef which is at the back of our lake. On this wave you’ll progress from riding white water waves to unbroken green waves, on this classic 1.5ft tall reef style wave.
Is this lesson for me?
You will want to be able to paddle into waves comfortably, be at east with being in deep water and have an understanding of a basic pop-up technique.
We would recommend at least 1-2 Beginner Lessons before trying this lesson.
